-What was your favorite material that you used this year? Why do you like working with it?
•My favorite material to work with was clay. I like clay because you never know exactly how it is going to turn out once it is dry. And you could just move it anyway you want to and make anything out of it. Even thought it is hard to get it exactly how you want it. And it might look differently when it comes out of the kiln. And if you have any air bubbles or cracks it will explode from the pressure. And it takes a while for the kiln to finish. then you could either paint or glaze it.
-What is your least favorite material to work with and why? How did you deal with it, what didn't you like about it. Please explain.
•My least favorite material to work with was the apple for the land art project. It was just a bad apple. It was really juicy and it wasn't easy to cut it straight. And also it turned brown really quick and kept breaking. Once I got it in the position I wanted it would fall. It was really ugly once it was cut. It was just really hard to work with and I would not do it again. Maybe if I could an apple that was hard it would have worked.
-which project do you feel was least important in learning the concepts taught in the course?
•I think the texture/ pressure project was the least important. 2 of my 4 tiles exploded in the kiln. I guess I didn't get all the air bubbles out. All I had to do was carve lines into clay. and it didn't really teach me anything I'm sure a baby could do it, but it was fun to make though.
